Poster girl for the Democrat party runs for school board in Martin County.

Amy Swain is a white woman of privilege who specializes in “white supremacy” scholarship at ECU. She claims America is illegitimate because it’s built on “stolen land,” that her community and her employer are racist, and that public schools are systemically racist - and she’s running for school board because “Our schools belong to us, you know?”
In other words, Swain is a typical white, female Democrat candidate.
Before Swain was a professor of education at ECU, she was an activist with the radical teacher’s union the NCAE. In 2016, Swain was arrested for laying in the middle of a Durham street during rush hour during a protest - over what, no one seems to know.
Even before that, Swain appears to have benefited from “white privilege” through the alleged crimes she has escaped with. According to public records, Swain was charged with reckless driving and wanton disregard for safety at the age of 16, and received a prayer for judgment leaving the crime off her record. Three years later, she was charged with DUI while under the legal drinking age. Swain was granted a second prayer for judgment - perfectly legal, but likely resulting from tens of thousands of dollars of expert legal counsel. There is no doubt that public defenders can provide competent legal representation, but due to heavy workloads, many cases slip through the cracks.
Swain’s familiarity with the criminal justice system may explain why she’s okay with watching Breaking Bad with her own 11-year-old. The show carries an “MA” warning for drug use, criminal conduct, violence and gore, and intensely sexual situations. Imagine the kind of inappropriate materials Swain would approve for other peoples’ children in the classroom.

Then again, since Swain doesn't think very highly of the people in Williamston, she probably could care less about their children.
Read what she wrote about her own community:

Swain never puts forward a concrete plan to even out perceived systemic inequalities. She apparently believes people of color lack the resources, willpower, and knowledge to succeed independently. Swain sees herself uniquely qualified to "save" the minority community without plans or policy prescriptions.
What Swain insinuates in her Tweet is insulting - infantilizing black people and demonizing whites based solely on the color of their skin.
The fact that she does so less than three weeks away from election day shows that she sees nothing wrong with holding such racist ideals.
She's even bitter about her employer:

If Swain were to be elected in Martin County, families could be sure that critical race theory would be mandated in every class as a way to improve the district’s 25% pass rate for math, and 30% rate for reading:

On the bright side, Swain would bring “Skinny Jean” culture to the schools in the district and this could lead to better retention of qualified teachers:

Given Swain's role as an ECU professor educating teachers, her reaction to the news that North Carolina students performed worse than they have in more than 20 years was disturbing:

What does Swain believe is the purpose of public schools? Because voters likely believe it's learning and they expect school administrators to have a plan to attack the profound learning loss experienced, especially, by low-income students. As Swain sees it, she is a "white savior" swooping in to save Martin County schools. But has she stopped to consider the side effects of that change? Probably not.
But at least Swain doesn't appear to be a "follow the science" type:

It's no secret that Democrats are going after the Judeo-Christian ideals that undergird our country and traditions. And now, they want your kids. Here you can see the receipts. Read them, and start fighting for children in Martin County. Do you know if your school board candidates promote this garbage? It's your duty to find out as soon as possible.
