National Polls Reveal Strong Support For The Concepts in NC's New Parental Rights Bill

The Senate Education Committee in North Carolina has approved legislation that will keep parents informed about what their children are learning and how they're being treated by doctors.
The bill also will prohibit the teaching of sexuality or "grooming" children for Transgenderism in grades K-12. The bill reverses Superintendent Catherine Truitt’s new school records policies by requiring school administrators to inform parents about name or pronoun changes requested by students.
In a statement from Senate Republicans, the measure passed the committee along party lines. The Left wing media and Progressive groups are universally against the proposal.
As usual, the Left is way out of step with the voice of the people.
In March, Rasmussen Reports found that 62% of 1,000 likely U.S. Voters would support a law similar to Florida's Parental Rights in Education bill in their own states, including 45% who strongly support the measure.
The Wall Street Journal conducted a survey in which 70% of Republicans, 58% of independents and 55% of Democrats agreed with this key clause:
Classroom instruction by school personnel or third parties on sexual orientation or gender identity may not occur in kindergarten through third grade or in a manner that is not age-appropriate or developmentally appropriate for students under state standards.
WSJ said this in its April op-ed about the Florida law, which mirrors the Parental Bill of Rights passed by the Republicans on the North Carolina Senate Committee:
When Americans are presented with the actual language of the new Florida law, it wins support by more than a two-to-one margin.” That’s from a new poll by Public Opinion Strategies. Overall, 61% of people said they supported the “don’t say gay” law, with 26% opposed.
Even more notable is the breadth of that sentiment. Democratic voters in the poll support the law 55% to 29%. Among suburban voters, which could be a decisive group for the midterm elections, it’s 60% to 30%. Parents: 67% to 24%. Biden voters: 53% to 30%. Respondents who “know someone LGBTQ”: 61% to 28%.
The Progressive leaning Morning Consult published a poll on Monday which indicated that 60% of Republicans and 44% of Democrats object to their children being taught about sexual orentation and gender identity at any age.
LOOKING AHEAD
Before Senate bill 755 becomes law, it must pass the full Senate and House with Republican majorities. The bill will likely face a veto by Democrat Governor Roy Cooper. Nationals polls indicate that Democrats who vote against the bill may face defeat during the November midterm election due to the popularity of keeping sexual politics out of the classroom.
